Data Scientist

Full TimeRemote3+ years

You'll build the intelligence layer of our Battery Intelligence Platform — production-grade ML models and autonomous agents that turn raw battery telemetry into fleet-scale insight. Work at the intersection of electrochemistry and modern ML, with real ownership over architecture and deployment.

What you'll do

  • Design, train, and deploy ML models for prediction, classification, anomaly detection, and forecasting on large-scale battery telemetry
  • Build end-to-end ML pipelines — ingestion, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring, and retraining
  • Develop time-series and sensor-data models (XGBoost, LSTM, Transformer) for real-time and batch inference
  • Build LLM-powered agents for schema discovery, metadata analysis, and automated pipeline generation
  • Deploy low-latency inference services with monitoring, drift detection, and explainability (SHAP/LIME)

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years building and deploying ML models on time-series / sensor data in production
  • Proficiency with gradient boosted trees (XGBoost, LightGBM) and deep sequence models (LSTM, GRU, Transformers)
  • Strong Python data science stack — NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch (or TF/Keras)
  • Feature engineering on noisy, irregular sensor data — filtering, smoothing, statistical aggregation
  • MLOps experience — MLflow, FastAPI/BentoML serving, CI/CD for ML, Parquet/Iceberg, Spark, S3 data lakes

Education

Typically, candidates have an MS or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field — but equivalent experience works too.

Nice to have

  • Experience building LLM agent systems — tool use, RAG, multi-agent orchestration
  • Transfer learning and temporal generative models (TimeGAN, Temporal Fusion Transformers) for time-series
  • Automotive data systems (CAN bus, OBD-II, BMS telemetry) or anomaly detection in safety-critical domains

  • Proficiency in ICA/DVA analysis
  • Experience with electrochemical modeling and simulation (PyBaMM or equivalent)
  • Strong Python scientific computing skills (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy)

Education

Typically, candidates have an MS or PhD in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or Battery Science.
